About Autodesk Revit 2017

Revit 2017 smartly utilized BIM features to further optimize efficient processes for smooth and stable workflow. Revit 2017 represents a specialized software for architects, as well as MEP and structural engineers as well as construction specialist. The optimum goal of software is to unite all disciplines working on a building project, so they are able work efficiently on a project using the same platform. Besides that, all participants remain connected while working on a building design or some construction-related processes. As result, the risk of data translation errors reduces and interdisciplinary communication improves, resulting in a more effective process of building design.

The following new features of Revit 2017 aim to optimize the entire workflow, from drafting and up to final design approval. Rendering in A360 allows to come up with high-resolution, photorealistic images within shorted time frames. Insight 360 feature allows to optimize performance of building with centralized access to advanced analysis engines and performance data. New solar analysis workflows shorten the time to take the decision, while improving the understanding of PV energy production. Besides that, Insight 360 also includes EnergyPlus, which aims to design dynamic thermal cooling and heating loads in Revit 2017.

Structural Analysis in Revit 2017 has undergone enhancements as well and allows to perform analysis from the cloud as a part of the BIM process. Design models now can be transferred from Revit directly to the cloud and users can perform static analysis, which aids in minimizing possible workflow disruptions. After the analysis is concluded, the results are being visualized and further explored in Revit.

In overall, more than 100 various performance enhancements and optimizations have been done to Revit 2017. Global parameters, modernized text editing as well as layout controls have been upgraded to smoothen the entire work process. Additional tools for automation model layout for MEP fabrication, as well as family-based rebar reinforcement connectors and IFC4 support have also been included in Revit 2017.

With Revit 2017 designers are able to access a higher level of detailing required for building, downstream fabrication, as well as projects modelling regardless of size or complexity.

What customers say

Jonathan, AU
I enjoy the creation a corridor without alignment or profile — I can specify a feature line as the baseline. This is the most important advantage of the 2017 version over the previous release for me. And cleaning up the self-intersections of the corridor on bends also makes my job a lot easier. I can also now publish quick links to these corridors to my projects. This was also a very long-awaited thing, I am very pleased to finally see such an opportunity in the new version.

AutoCAD LT 2019 is great for sketching and 2D work. Unfortunately, the functionality is limited and there is no opportunity to work with 3D, but the price justifies it. Everything works fine, with no brakes or bugs. Very glad I bought it!
Ulpu, FI
Great product, very easy to install and quite intuitive. That's highly important especially if it's the first time when you deal with such an advanced tool. You get 3 years subscription and 24/7 support for any type of situation you might encounter.

I've been using Maya since 2000, a year after it came out. It's disgustingly obvious at this point that now that we're all forced onto subscriptions for many years, the features they add each year are clearly not worth the tens of thousands of dollars we have to pay for 5 to 10 licenses. Those of you who haven't been around long enough on the 3D scene don't understand how much you're paying for so very little. Autodesk no longer have any motivation to give us anything substantial because if we don't pay them, then they terminate our ability to use their software. They cooked up this idea back in 2017, and it's been down hill ever since. We have no way to retaliate, other than to revert back to using version 2018 (the last perpetual license version). We now live in the age of software hell.
